NIAEASP CELEBRATES 35 YEARS OF UNITY
The National Irrigation Administration Employees Association of the Philippines (NIAEASP) marks its 35th Founding Anniversary today with the theme: “Staying United and Strong for the Benefit of NIA and its Employees”.
NIA Region 7, spearheaded by Acting Regional Manager Engr. Reyne B. Ugay, began the half-day activity with a celebration of the Holy Eucharist followed by a short program participated by the employees of the Regional Office and the Bohol Irrigation Management Office.
NIAESP-7 Chapter and District President, Mrs. Elvira Alvarado emphasized during her speech that the benefits of being a member of the association also entail responsibilities.
NIA-R7 PREPARES FOR UNFORESEEN DISASTERS
TAGBILARAN CITY — The National Irrigation Administration Region 7 (NIA-R7) conducted a Fire and Earthquake Drill on May 10-11, 2022, to ensure its employees can respond appropriately to emergencies.
Facilitated by the Tagbilaran City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the employees learned the safety procedures in a Basic Fire and Earthquake Safety lecture conducted on the first day of training.
A scenario-based fire emergency and earthquake drill was also done on the second day to test whether the employees can successfully carry out the emergency procedures.
WORKSHOP ON PREPARATION OF GAD-RESPONSIVE IRRIGATION PROJECT PROPOSALS
The Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System of NIA Region 7 is undergoing a 3-day Workshop on Preparation of GAD-Responsive Irrigation Project Proposals today at the NIA Central Visayas Training Center, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
The training, which will span until May 1, 2022, will orient the NIA 7 technical and institutional staff to properly integrate the Philippine Commission on Women’s (PCW) Guidelines to promote the GAD Agenda.
The Resource Speaker who is a member of the PCW National GAD Resource Pool, Mr. James Arsenio O. Ponce, explained the impact of a GAD-responsive Project Proposal.
BOHOL IRRIGATORS' ASSOCIATIONS PREP FOR 2ND CROPPING SEASON
The National Irrigation Administration Region 7, headed by the Acting Regional Manager Engr. Reyne B. Ugay, host a series of System Management Committee Meetings for farmers under Irrigation Systems of Malinao, Capayas, Bayongan, and Talibon on April 5-7, 2022, consecutively.
In his message, RM Ugay reiterates the PAGASA Weather Report on La Niña and urged farmers to make good use of this available water.
"As IA [Irrigator’s Association] Leaders, let us strategically plan our Cropping Calendar. Let us not waste the abundance of water that we are experiencing right now. Conserve so we have water to use for the following cropping season"
