NEGROS ORIENTAL IRRIGATORS GATHER FOR IA CONGRESS

Over a hundred Irrigators Associations (IA) officials representing 8,255 farmers province-wide participated in the Negros Oriental IA Assessment and Assistance Collaboration Forum held at Sea Dream Resorts, Dauin on October 26-27, 2022.

The NIA Region VII - Negros Oriental Satellite Office (NOSO) holds this annual activity to solicit issues and concerns from the farmers regarding irrigation development for management intervention.

NIA RVII Acting Regional Manager Engr. Reyne B. Ugay and the NOSO Head Engr. Helen T. Lacpao led this activity to link farmers to more agencies that could also give farmers support.

CEBU FARMERS: LIBO PUMP IRRIGATION PROJECT ÖFFICIALLY OURS

Members of Liboanon Irrigators Association (IA) Inc. were all smiles as they sign the Turnover Documents of Libo Pump Irrigation Project on Monday.

This project will serve 15 hectares of agricultural land and will aid 55 farmer-beneficiaries in Libo, Tuburan, Cebu.

Karen M. Pepito, Liboanon IA President, expressed her gratefulness to NIA in her acceptance speech.

“Mapasalamaton mi sa NIA kay gihatagan kami ug proyektong pang irigasyon. Kani dako kaayo nga abag sa among pag-uma hinlabi na kung ting huwaw (We are so thankful to NIA for giving us this irrigation project. It is a great help for our farming activities especially during dry season).”

Miralles attend the First Stakeholders’ Consultation Meeting today for Water Resource Region 7 (Central Visayas) Data Collection Survey conducted by the JICA Study Team in coordination with NEDA and NWRB, for the Water Resources Development and Management in the Philippines at the Quest Hotel & Conference Center, Cebu City.

BIIS RECEIVES RUBBER BOAT FROM BM VILLAMOR

The National Irrigation Administration Region 7-Bohol Integrated Irrigation System received a rubber boat from 2nd District Board Member Atty. Jiselle "Jamie" Aumentado Villamor on Monday in a turnover Ceremony at Farmers’ Hall, Capayas IS, Ubay.

“We used to utilize a bamboo raft and now that we have this boat, it will be easier to navigate and reach even the farthest skirts of the reservoir during clearing and other maintenace activities” NIA-R7 Acting Regional Manager Engr. Reyne B. Ugay said.

ARM UGAY MEETS WITH MAYOR DIAMANTE, BRGY. CAPTAINS OF TUBURAN, CEBU

NIA R7 Acting Regional Manager Engr. Reyne B. Ugay with Bohol-Cebu-Siquijor Irrigation Management Office Acting Division Manager Engr. Danilo M. Bugnos, Jr. met with the Municipal Mayor and Barangay Captains of Tuburan, Cebu yesterday, August 10, 2022 at the Lamac Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Cocohub Village, Brgy. Colonia, Tuburan, Cebu.

Being one of the guests in the meeting for Bamboo Planting Activity organized by the Municipal Agriculture Office of Tuburan, Engr. Ugay took the opportunity to ask for the support and coordination of the LGU on the proposed project in the Municipality, the Languyon River-Tuburan Small Reservoir Irrigation Project which is now at its Feasibility Study Stage.

NIA7 DEVELOPS EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN FOR 4 BOHOL DAMS

TAGBILARAN CITY- The National Irrigation Administration Region 7 (NIA-7) conducted a Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Planning Workshop to develop the agency’s Emergency Action/Preparedness Plan for its Bohol dams.

NIA-7’s Bohol Integrated Irrigation System is composed of four (4) National Irrigation Systems namely: Capayas Irrigation System (Ubay), Malinao IS (Pilar), Talibon IS (Talibon), and Bayongan IS (San Miguel).

The drafting of the plan on August 2 to 3, 2022 at the Central Visayas Training Center, Tagbilaran City was guided by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officers together with the Irrigators’ Association (IAs) who are beneficiaries of the said dams.
