Geodetic Engineers and other Survey personnel from the Central Office and Regions 5 to 13 convened for a weeklong workshop on Survey and Mapping for Project Preparation at NIA 7 Central Visayas Training Center, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

The training aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of the participants in conducting survey and mapping activities for Feasibility Studies and Detailed Engineering crucial for effective project preparation.

The focus was on equipping them with the latest tools and methodologies in the field, ensuring that they are well-prepared to contribute to the success of upcoming projects.

BUILDING STRONGER TRAINERS FOR DEVOLUTION SUCCESS

The Institutional Development Officers (IDOs) of NIA Region 7 undergo a Training of Trainers on Operations and Maintenance (O & M) of Communal Irrigation Systems (CIS) and Institutional Development Processes on November 6-10, 2023 at Central Visayas Training Center, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

This program is marked a crucial preparatory step for NIA's devolution of the Communal Irrigation Systems (CIS) to Local Government Units (LGUs), as mandated in the Executive Order 138 s.2021.

The Training of Trainers program was designed to equip the Irrigators Development Officers of the agency with the knowledge and skills needed to train others in LGUs, ensuring a smooth transition and the efficient management of communal irrigation systems.

NIA7 Turns Over P11.6M Irrigation Projects to Boost Farming in Sevilla, Bohol

The National Irrigation Administration Region VII (NIA RVII) officially handed over three irrigation projects with a combined investment of P11.6 million, to farmers in Sevilla, Bohol on September 28, 2023, at Barangay Calinginan Sur.

These irrigation projects are set to revolutionize farming practices and support the livelihoods of 54 farmer beneficiaries watering a total of 24 hectares across three barangays: Bayawahan, Magsaysay, and Kanlakaw, all within the thriving Municipality of Sevilla, Bohol.

KADIWA SA NIA LAUNCHED IN BOHOL!

Products of the farmers from all over Bohol such as fresh vegetables, root crops, different varieties of rice, tilapia and more, are showcased today in the Grand Launching of KADIWA sa NIA in Dao, Tagbilaran City, today.

The event which will open until Friday, is a step of NIA Region VII led by Regional Manager Engr. Rory F. Avance in supporting local farmers and their livelihood.

Simultaneous KADIWA sa NIA is also being held today at the towns of Pilar, Talibon and Ubay, where fresh agricultural products are being sold at a lower price.

NIA RVII JOINS THE TIDE FOR A CLEANER SEASIDE

32 employees of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VII manifested in cleaning the coast of the KofC Drive in Poblacion II, Tagbilaran City, Bohol on September 20, 2023.

This is pursuant to the Presidential Proclamation No. 470 series of 2003 declaring the 3rd Sunday of September of each year as the International Coastal Clean-up (ICC) Day.

NIA Region 7, headed by Regional Manager Engr. Rory F. Avance, participates in the annual ICC Day in support to maintaining ecosystem health, safeguarding human well-being, and promoting environmental awareness and community engagement.

This year is the 38th celebration of the International Coastal Clean-up (ICC) Day.

NIA RVII WELCOMES NEW IMO MANAGER

NIA Region VII turned over the stewardship for Bohol-Cebu-Siquijor Irrigation Management Office (BCS-IMO) to new IMO Manager, Engr. Maritez I. Soria, today, July 3 at the NIA R7 Compound, Dao, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

In a turnover ceremony presided by NIA R7 Regional Manager Engr. Reyne B. Ugay, Engr. Danilo M. Bugnos Jr. passed on the baton of leadership after serving as Acting BCSIMO Manager for a year.

Muabot sa 1,946 ka mga kahoy ang natanom sa mga kawani sa NIA Region 7 sa gipahigayong NIA Nationwide simultaneous Tree Planting Activity adlawng Byernes, Hunyo 30, nga may temang “Tao, Agrikultura at Kalikasan Para sa Progresibong Kaunlaran”.

Kini parte sa kasaulugan sa ika-60 nga anibersaryo sa National Irrigation Administration (NIA) niadtong ika-22 sa Hunyo tuig 2023 nga sibo sa National Greening Program sa NIA (E.O. no.23 s.2011, E.O. no.193 s.2016) ug sa Watershed Rehabilitation and Protection Program sa NIA Region 7 nga gisugdan niaging tuig.

Tumong sa maong programa nga mapadaghan ang kahoy sa mga sabakan sa tubig o watersheds aron panalipod sa pagkankan sa yuta padung sa dam nga maoy hinungdan sa posibleng pagmenus sa tubig nga masawd niini.

NIA REGION 7 EXPLORES MORE INTER-AGENCY CONVERGENCE TO SPEED UP DELIVERY OF SERVICES FOR FARMERS

Earlier today, NIA Region 7 Regional Manager Engr. Reyne B. Ugay initiated a series of meetings with DOLE, DPWH, and DSWD to personally discuss what and how the farmers and the Irrigators’ Associations of Central Visayas can avail the programs and services offered by the said agencies.

RM Ugay together with Operations Acting Section Chief Engr. Maria Donesa Autida and Administrative Services Chief Ms. Elvira Alvarado discussed possible convergence to synchronize interventions of agencies and speed-up delivery of services and resources to the farmers.

BACK-TO-BACK CARP-IC PROJECTS TURNOVER IN LOBOC, BOHOL

Two Communal Irrigation Projects (CIP) funded by the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program- Irrigation Component (CARP-IC) were turned over to Agrarian Refrom Communities in Loboc, Bohol on April 20, 2023.

Tingiw-Bahi-an CIP was officially turned over to Bahian Irrigators' Association Inc. benefitting 14 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) and 7 non-ARBs, irrigating 8 hectares of farmland in Barangay Bahi-an.

While, Pangas-Quinoguitan CIP, which will irrigate 8 hectares of service area for 19 ARBs in Brgy. Quinoguitan, Loboc, was turned over to Quinoguitan Farmers Irrigators'Association, Inc.
