NIA7 DEVELOPS EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN FOR 4 BOHOL DAMS

TAGBILARAN CITY- The National Irrigation Administration Region 7 (NIA-7) conducted a Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Planning Workshop to develop the agency’s Emergency Action/Preparedness Plan for its Bohol dams.

NIA-7’s Bohol Integrated Irrigation System is composed of four (4) National Irrigation Systems namely: Capayas Irrigation System (Ubay), Malinao IS (Pilar), Talibon IS (Talibon), and Bayongan IS (San Miguel).

The drafting of the plan on August 2 to 3, 2022 at the Central Visayas Training Center, Tagbilaran City was guided by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officers together with the Irrigators’ Association (IAs) who are beneficiaries of the said dams.

MUSHROOM PRODUCTION TRAINING FOR CALAPE FARMERS

The National Irrigation Administration-Region 7 (NIA-R7) facilitated an Oyster Mushroom Production Training for Bakinayao Farmers Irrigators’ Association in Calape, Bohol in collaboration with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority-Provincial Training Center of Tubigon (TESDA-PTC Tubigon).

This initiative is in line with NIA-7’s vision to improve the farmers’ quality of life by elevating their agricultural productivity and increasing farmers’ income.

TESDA-Tubigon headed by Center Administrator Maria Levy A. Yosoya, facilitated the 2 batches of Mushroom Production Trainings on June 16-17, 2022, and July 5-6, 2022 both held in Bentig Barangay Hall, Calape, Bohol.

NIA CEBU OFFICE AND ITS CONTRACTORS CONVENE FOR A MEETING

August 3, 2022

As part of its commitment in ensuring that all projects are completed and delivered before the end of the calendar year 2022, NIA Cebu Office under the leadership of Engr. Danilo M. Bugnos, Jr., Acting Division Manager of the Bohol-Cebu-Siquijor Irrigation Management Office (BCSIMO) calls for a NIA-LMC Contractor’s Coordination Meeting at the NIA Cebu Office Conference Room, today, August 3, 2022.

Engr. Bugnos presided over the meeting, together with Engr. Nelson M. Miralles, Assistant Head of Cebu Office, Engr. Gemini Rose M. Abuan, Head of Construction Unit, Staff of the Engineering Unit and Project-in-charges (PICs).

NIA-R7 HOSTS MIDYEAR ASSESSMENT OF CY 2022 CARP-IC PROJECTS

NIA Region 7 hosted the second batch of Midyear Assessment for CY 2022 Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program-Irrigation Component (CARP-IC) Projects on July 12-15, 2022 at the South Palms Resort, Panglao, Bohol.

This was participated by PMO Engineers, and NIA Regions 6, 8 to 13's Engineering Division Managers, CARP-IC Project Managers, and field implementers.

The assessment was officiated by CARP-IC Project Manager Engr. Delsy J. Revellame to assess the progress of each region’s project accomplishments and review proposed FY 2023 CARP Projects.
