July 18, 2022

NIA Region 7 hosted the second batch of Midyear Assessment for CY 2022 Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program-Irrigation Component (CARP-IC) Projects on July 12-15, 2022 at the South Palms Resort, Panglao, Bohol.

This was participated by PMO Engineers, and NIA Regions 6, 8 to 13's Engineering Division Managers, CARP-IC Project Managers, and field implementers.

The assessment was officiated by CARP-IC Project Manager Engr. Delsy J. Revellame to assess the progress of each region’s project accomplishments and review proposed FY 2023 CARP Projects.

NIA Region 7 Acting Regional Manager Engr. Reyne B. Ugay welcomed the participants with encouraging words to continue striving for CARP: “Ang CARP ay parte na ng buhay natin, ipagpatuloy natin ang pagsunod talaga ng development process, simula identification hanggang turnover at monitoring, para sa mga beneficiaries”, he said in his message.

CARP recognizes not only farmers but all landless workers as beneficiaries with the condition that they cultivate the land. Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), as one of the main departments in charge of this program, has been funding irrigation projects for Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARB) through NIA as project implementor.

This activity is the second of the two-batch Assessment. Batch one (1) was conducted last July 5 to 8, 2022 in Davao City.
