COA AND NIA REGION VII HOLD EXIT CONFERENCE ON AUDIT RESULTS

The Commission on Audit (COA) conducted an Exit Conference with and the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VII today, March 27, 2025, at the CVTC Function Room, Dao, Tagbilaran City, to discuss audit results.

The meeting was led by COA's OIC-Audit Team Leader under the Corporate Board Sector, Ms. Jennifer P. Adolfo, and attended by NIA Region VII auditees headed by Acting Regional Manager Engr. Antonio B. Gujeling.

NIA REGION VII CELEBRATES WOMEN'S MONTH WITH PAMPERING, BAKING, AND SELF-DEFENSE ACTIVITIES

NIA Region VII welcomed both male and female employees for an afternoon of relaxation, learning, and empowerment to mark Women’s Month Culmination.

Understanding the value of self-care, pampering services were made available at the CVTC Function Hall for employees to avail. Hair coloring, haircut, manicure, pedicure, waxing, threading, and massages are among these. Though not free, the services provided employees the time to get a well-deserved treat, boosting their confidence and sense of self-worth.

NIA RVII TURNS OVER 3 IRRIGATION PROJECTS TO CEBU FARMERS

To bolster agricultural productivity, the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VII Bohol-Cebu-Siquijor Irrigation Management Office (BCSIMO) Cebu Office officially turned over three newly completed irrigation projects to Cebu farmers on March 14, 2025, during the Cluster 4 Northern Cebu Federation Inc. General Assembly at the CDRRMO Training Center, Looc, Danao City.

The projects—Calambua Communal Irrigation System (CIS) in San Remigio (20-hectare repair) benefits , Mulao CIS in Compostela (5-hectare extension) benefits 45 farmers, and Sta Cruz Pump Irrigation System (PIS) in Camotes Island (32-hectare repair) benefits 70 farmers—aim to provide reliable irrigation, enhancing crop yield and farmers’ resilience against climate challenges.

WOMEN'S RIGHTS TAKE CENTER STAGE AT NIA R7 FORUM

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VII marked its Culmination Activity for the National Women’s Month 2025 by hosting a forum on the Magna Carta of Women (R.A. 9710) at NIA R7 CVTC Function Hall, earlier today.

Atty. Collin U. Pacional, CE. FO1, a noted advocate for Gender and Development, led the discussion which aims to raise awareness about women’s rights and promote a culture of gender equality within the agency and beyond.

Acting Regional Manager Engr. Antonio B. Gujeling opened the event reiterating the agency’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where women’s rights are recognized and upheld.

MADFIA FARMERS PREPARE TO TAKEOVER NEW MALINAO DRIP IRRIGATION SYSTEM FROM NIA REGION VII

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VII, under the leadership of Acting Regional Manager Engr. Antonio B. Gujeling, assured the Malinao Dam Federation of Irrigators Associations (MADFIA) of the agency’s full support as they prepare to take over the operation of the Malinao Drip Irrigation System.

In the preparatory meeting held on March 14, 2025, at the Bohol Integrated Irrigation System (BIIS) Conference Room, Pilar, Bohol, RM Gujeling emphasized the importance of collaboration among the IA leaders.

NIA REGION VII TRAINS BUENAVISTA FARMER-IRRIGATORS ON FOOD SAFETY FOR CATERING SERVICES

To enhance their catering business, 35 members of Paril-Cambiroon Irrigators' Association of the Bonot-Bonot Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (SRIP) undergo a specialized training on food safety on March 17-18, 2025.

Held at the Bugaong Multi-purpose Hall, the training titled “Safe and Sustainable Food Handling: A Training on Food Safety, Sanitation, and Presentation” empowers the IA with the critical knowledge for preventing food contamination and improving the quality and appeal of their catering services.

This initiative supports NIA’s goal to provide farmer-beneficiaries with alternative revenue streams that complement their agricultural activities. It also promotes farm-to-table dining by encouraging the use of their own produce in catering services.

EXTENDING PARTNERSHIP: NIA RVII'S LAND USE TALKS WITH PBGH

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VII engaged in a significant meeting with the Provincial Government of Bohol’s (PGBh) Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Government Properties, Enterprises, and Related Undertakings today, 06 March 2025, at the SP Pre-Conference Room, Provincial Capitol Building, Tagbilaran City.

The meeting was convened to discuss NIA RVII’s request to extend its use of a portion of land located along J.A. Clarin Street in Dao, Tagbilaran City. The discussion aimed at formalizing actions and recommendations for the approval of the agreement.

NIA RVII KICKS OFF 2025 NAT'L WOMEN'S MONTH CELEBRATION

The National Irrigation Administration Region VII (NIA RVII) officially launched the 2025 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) during its Flag Raising Ceremony today, March 3, 2025, underscoring the agency’s commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Employees proudly wore purple to symbolize solidarity in advocating for women’s rights. The event featured a knowledge-sharing session highlighting the crucial role of women in various sectors, reinforcing the theme: “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas.”

Following the ceremony, employees participated in a Mass Zumba session at the NIA Covered Court, Tagbilaran City, promoting health and well-being.

PLANNING WORKSHOP STRENGTHENS EQUIPMENT UTILIZATION FOR BOHOL PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) conducted a Planning Workshop on Equipment Utilization for National Irrigation Systems (NIS) and Force Account Works (FAW), today, February 28, 2025, at the BIIS Conference Room in Malinao IS Office, Pilar, Bohol.

The workshop, led by Acting Engineering and Operations Division Manager Engr. Nelson L. Doliente, Acting Operations Section Chief Engr. Maria Donesa A. Autida, and Bohol Integrated Irrigation System Head Engr. Evelina P. Putong, aimed to streamline resource allocation and strengthen project execution.

EFFECTIVE POLICY FORMULATION & IMPLEMENTATION TRAINING FOR BOHOL IRRIGATORS' ASSOCIATIONS

Ubay and Pilar, Bohol - The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VII, through its Bohol Integrated Irrigation System (BIIS), conducted a two-day training on Effective Policy Formulation & Implementation for the Irrigators’ Associations (IAs) of Bohol.

The training sessions for Malinao Integrated Systems (IS) is currently held at the Farmers' Hall in Pilar, today, February 28. Session for Bayongan and Capayas IS was held at the Farmers' Hall in Ubay on February 27.

The activity features Atty. Revneil Jane L. Fabiosa, Attorney IV of NIA Region VII, as the resource speaker, guiding the IA officers and Board of Trustees (BOT) in reviewing and updating their existing policies to align with legal frameworks and operational needs.
