SAN REMIGIO FARMERS HOLDS 10TH GENAS, RECEIVES P100K ASSISTANCE FOR IA OFFICE COMPLETION

The Sitio Bancal Poblacion San Remigio Farmers & Irrigators Association Inc. (SIBAPOSFRIA), beneficiaries of the NIA BSCIMO Cebu Office’s Bogo Pump Irrigation System, successfully held its 10th Annual General Assembly on February 21, 2025, at their newly constructed Irrigators Association (IA) Office in San Remigio, Cebu.
Under the leadership of IA President Retired PNP PMSg Leo Edaño and its dedicated officers, SIBAPOSFRIA has been working tirelessly since its establishment in 2015 to secure a permanent office space. Their efforts led to the successful purchase of a lot, and now, the construction of their IA Office—although it remains unfinished.
IAS AUDIT EXIT CONFERENCE STRENGTHENS NIA RVII'S COMMITMENT TO PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VII reaffirmed its commitment to continuous improvement following an Audit Exit Conference conducted by the Internal Audit Services (IAS) on February 13, 2025, at Bohol Plaza, Dauis, Bohol. The conference provided an opportunity to assess key processes and discuss enhancements to ensure greater efficiency and compliance with established policies and regulations.
IAS Manager Atty. Pepito L. Padilla led the conference virtually, while Team Leader Melvincent C. Cablayan, MPA, and the audit team presented their evaluation. Engr. Antonio B. Gujeling, Acting Regional Manager of NIA Region VII, attended the meeting alongside division managers and key personnel to review the audit results and strategize on improvements.
NIA R7 PROMOTES ORAL HEALTH AWARENESS WITH LECTURE AND FREE DENTAL SERVICES

In celebration of the National Oral Health Month, the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VII took a proactive step in promoting oral health awareness among its employees through a comprehensive lecture and free dental health services at NIA Central Visayas Training Center on February 10, 2025.
This initiative, led by the Human Resources Unit (HRU), aimed to educate employees on the significance of oral hygiene, its impact on overall health, and preventive measures to avoid dental problems.
FOREST FIRE PROTECTION AND TECHNIQUES TRAINING NIA R7 WATERSHED PROTECTORS

Talibon, Bohol – The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VII successfully conducted a training on Forest Fire Protection and Techniques for its watershed employees on February 6-7, 2025, at the Talibon Small Reservoir Irrigation System (SRIS) office in Zamora, Talibon, Bohol.
The training aimed to equip participants with knowledge on basic forest and grass fire preparedness, forest fire behavior, and basic principles of fire control and management. Topics covered included pre-suppression activities, fire suppression tactics and techniques, and organizational management of wildfires.
NIA RVII REVIEWS 2024 ACCOMPLISHMENTS, LAY OUT PLANS FOR 2025

Dauis, Bohol - In a bid to bolster the region's irrigation systems, the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VII is currently holding its 2024 Year-end Review and Planning Workshop (RPW) which will run until February 13 at Bohol Plaza Resort, Dauis.
Led by NIA RVII Acting Regional Manager, Engr. Antonio B. Gujeling, this activity aims to reflect on the challenges and accomplishments achieved in 2024, identify areas for improvement, and collaboratively set goals and strategies for 2025.
In his message, Engr. Gujeling emphasized the importance of proactively providing feedback on matters requiring immediate attention. He also encouraged everyone to present challenges encountered and develop a catch-up plan.

50 Irrigators’ Association (IA) Presidents and members gathered on January 23 & 24, 2025, for the 5th Siquijor NIA-IA Congress at E.I. Suites, Poblacion, Siquijor, Siquijor.
The event highlighted collaboration between the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and farmers in enhancing the agricultural sector of the province.
The congress was honored by the presence of distinguished officials including Acting Regional Manager - Engr. Antonio B. Gujeling, Acting IMO Manager of the Bohol-Cebu-Siquijor Office - Engr.
