NIA 7 BOOSTS IDOs AND PR TEAM WRITING SKILLS THRU WORKSHOP
The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region 7 conducted a Writing Workshop in Central Visayas Training Center, Tagbilaran City on February 2-3, 2022.
Media Consultant and Publicist Mr. Raul Gatal facilitated this 2-Day News and Press Release Writing Seminar in which the Public Relations Designates (PRDs) and the Irrigators Development Officers (IDOs) from Bohol, Negros Oriental, Cebu, and the Regional Office attended.
NIA 7 Public Relations Officer, Zarline S. Sambas, emphasized the need for this training to strengthen the communication and PR skills of the team.
NIA R7 LAUNCHES RELIEF OPS TO TYPHOON-STRICKEN J.O. EMPLOYEES
After being hit by the Super Typhoon “Odette”, the National Irrigation Administration 7 Regional Office launched a relief operation to extend aid to all its Field Offices Job Order employees on January 21, 2022.
The storm wreaked havoc in Bohol in mid-December and left over a hundred dead and tens of thousands homeless.
To help ease the struggles of the typhoon victims, NIA 7 launched Bundle of Joy, a campaign that aims to bring joy to the beneficiaries through bundles of the two most basic human needs— food and clothing.

DONE: CLEARING OF CANALS IN MALINAO DAM
The Malinao Dam Irrigation System in Pilar, Bohol completed its clearing operation on MDIP Main Canal after Super Typhoon Odette hit the Region.
As the devastating typhoon left debris in the irrigation facility, MDIP immediately took action and brought heavy equipment to clear out the uprooted trees.
Through the leadership Office in-Charge Aproniano Añora, the clearing of the Main Canal was completed on the second week of January.
OIC Añora said that this clearing activity is supposed to be part of the Operation and Maintenance routine done by Irrigators' Associations. However, considering that most of the farmers' homes were also destroyed by the typhoon, NIA 7 took the initiative to clear out the canals.

ODETTE-STRICKEN NIA R7 RECEIVES MONETARY ASSISTANCE FROM ARDOMA
NIA Region 7 employees and Irrigators’ Associations (IAs) who were badly affected by the distressing Super Typhoon Odette receive financial assistance from The Association of Regional Directors and Operations Managers of the Philippines, Inc. (ARDOMA).
In a ceremonial turnover held at the NIA 7 Covered Court on January 13, 2022, National Irrigation Administration 7 Acting Regional Manager Engr. Reyne B. Ugay handed over the cheque amounting to Php699,000.00 to NIA Employees Association of the Philippines (NIAEASP) Region 7.
In his message, RM Ugay expressed how grateful he was for the generous assistance that is being extended for NIA Region 7. He also shared that in the past, NIA Region 7 has also been helping other Regions that had experienced calamities.

The past year has been undeniably tough and testing, but the resilient NIA 7 employees are determined to make this year a better one. For year 2022, all NIA 7 Employees mark their commitment to support this year's theme: "Synergy, Sustainability and Security".
In the Ushering in 2022 Ceremony simultaneously undertaken this morning in all NIA offices nationwide, all NIA Region 7 employees (Regional Office, Bohol Irrigation Management Office, Bohol Integrated Irrigation System, Cebu Office, and Negros Oriental Satellite Office included), sign their stone on the NIA 7 Accent Wall as a mark of commitment to the Agency.
