BOHOL'S GARCIA HERNANDEZ AND CEBU'S TUBURAN, TO PIONEER CONSOLIDATED FARMING IN CENTRAL VISAYAS
The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region 7 takes action on NIA Acting Administrator Engr. Eddie G. Guillen's move for consolidated farming which pools the resources of various agencies to support the needs of farmers.
NIA R7 Regional Manager Engr. Reyne B. Ugay met with Mayor Democrito Diamante of Tuburan, Cebu on March 1, and with Mayor Jess Baja of Garcia Hernandez, Bohol on March 2, to discuss the creation of farmer cooperatives per Municipality.
NIA-DPWH 'CONVERGENCE' PAVES WAY TO SERVICE ROAD CONCRETING PROJECT FOR PILAR FARMERS
The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VII and the Department of Public Works and Highways- Bohol 3rd District Engineering Office (DPWH-Bohol 3rd DEO) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) today for the concreting of Malinao Irrigation System main canal service road in Brgy. Estaca, Pilar through DPWH’s Kalsada Tungo sa Patubigan Program.
"Kadalasan sa mga service roads namin ay hindi po concrete, with our limited budget minsan pa nga yung canal namin ay earth canal just to compensate and reach as much serviceable area as we can kasi irrigation ang aming focus. Kaya malaking tulong po ang programa na ito ng DPWH" NIA R7 Regional Manager Engr. Reyne B. Ugay said during the MOA Signing.
NIA TURNS OVER P6.2M IRRIGATION-REHAB FOR CLARIN FARMERS
Farmers of Clarin received P6,250,000 million-worth irrigation rehabilitation from National Irrigation Administration for Cabog Communal Irrigation System on February 16 Cabog IA Bunkhouse, Clarin, Bohol.
This project benefits 23 farmer-members of Cabog Methodical Irrigators Association Inc. who have a total of 25 hectares of farmland.
During the Inauguration and Turnover ceremony, Cabog Methodical IA President Mr. Reynante A. Lauro expressed his gratitude for NIA.
