
CEBU CITY | National Irrigation Administration Region 7 Regional Manager Engr. Reyne B. Ugay meets with DPWH Region VII Regional Director Engr. Ernesto S. Gregorio, Jr. on Tuesday to discuss more potential convergence of the two agencies.
This is in accordance with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s mandate for NIA and DPWH to work together and speed up the implementation of high-impact irrigation projects to increase the country's agricultural productivity.
NIA is eyeing to avail DPWH's funds allocated for convergence projects with other agencies.
NIA Region VII proposes to work with DPWH VII on its irrigation drainage facilities, slope protection works, and sabo dams.
Present in the meeting are DPWH 7's Planning and Design Head and Convergence focal person Engr. Nonato Paylado, NIA R7 Operations Acting Section Chief Engr. Ma. Donesa Autida, NIA R7 Bohol-Cebu-Siquijor IMO Manager Engr. Danilo M. Bugnos Jr., and NIA Cebu Office Acting Head Nelson Miralles.
On March 2 this year, NIA R7 and DPWH-Bohol 3rd DEO signed its first-ever convergence for the concreting of the Malinao Irrigation System main canal service road in Brgy. Estaca, Pilar through DPWH’s Kalsada Tungo sa Patubigan Program.
