NIA R7 EMPLOYEES COMPLETE BASIC LIFE SUPPORT TRAINING

TAGBILARAN CITY, BOHOL- Employees of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region 7 learn life-saving techniques as they complete the Occupational First Aid and Basic Life Support Training at the Central Visayas Training Center.

This two-day workshop which spans from March 16-17, 2022 was facilitated by The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) through the PRC Safety Service Instructors Abriel Joseph M. Aton, Eric W. Sisco, and Yanick D.H. Epitalon.

22 participants from NIA 7 Regional Office, Bohol-Cebu-Siquijor Irrigation Management Office (BCS-IMO), and Negros Oriental Satellite Office (NOSO) learned about Emergency Action Principles, Lifting and Moving Techniques, how to perform Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with Automated External Defibrillator (AED) including the Health Hazards and Risks, and the different techniques in tying a triangular bandage around different types of injuries.

Having passed the evaluation conducted right after the training, the participants will get certification from PRC allowing them to provide basic life–saving and life-sustaining interventions until the trained medical personnel gives them full medical care.
