NIA 7 ENSURES RESISTIVITY VALUE OF PROJECTS IN CALUNASAN AND CATIGBIAN

March 17, 2022

BOHOL- National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region 7 conducts Georesistivity Survey at Catigbian Small Water Impounding Project (SWIP) in Calape, Bohol, and Calunasan Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (SRIP) on March 10-12, 2022.

Resident Geologist Efren Gabriel Alvarado and R10 Geologist Briana Bautista assessed possible internal erosion and piping through dam body and foundation as well as to determine and/or locate

any possible sinkholes and cavity formations.

This Georesistivity Survey is a geophysical technique that utilizes an instrument called a resistivity-meter to determine the nature of materials in the subsurface and its resistivity values.

The team also visited Hibale and conducted site vulnerability and hazard assessment which can pose threat to the project site.

The geologists called for an Exit Conference to report findings and recommendations to NIA Region 7 Acting Regional Manager Engr. Reyne B. Ugay on Monday.
