ODETTE-STRICKEN NIA R7 RECEIVES MONETARY ASSISTANCE FROM ARDOMA

NIA Region 7 employees and Irrigators’ Associations (IAs) who were badly affected by the distressing Super Typhoon Odette receive financial assistance from The Association of Regional Directors and Operations Managers of the Philippines, Inc. (ARDOMA).

In a ceremonial turnover held at the NIA 7 Covered Court on January 13, 2022, National Irrigation Administration 7 Acting Regional Manager Engr. Reyne B. Ugay handed over the cheque amounting to Php699,000.00 to NIA Employees Association of the Philippines (NIAEASP) Region 7.

In his message, RM Ugay expressed how grateful he was for the generous assistance that is being extended for NIA Region 7. He also shared that in the past, NIA Region 7 has also been helping other Regions that had experienced calamities.

“It is true that when you give, you will also receive,” he said.

NIAEASP Region 7 President Mrs. Elvira Alvarado accepted the monetary assistance together with other NIAEASP Officials Engr. Evelina Putong, Sharon Mae Caldoza and Dario Bonete. Since it is also day 2 for the agency’s WAVE Workshop, this was witnessed by all NIA 7 Regional Office employees.

This financial help will be distributed to all NIA Region 7 employees in the Regional Office, Bohol Integrated Irrigation System Office, BCS-IMO Cebu Office, Negros Oriental Satellite Office, and Bohol Irrigation Management Office, along with its IAs who have submitted a report with photos of their totally/partially damaged homes.

Php 345, 460.00 will go to 92 employees with totally damaged houses. Php 181, 500.00 will proceed to 363 employees who reported partially damaged houses. Php 104,000 for the 40 totally affected IAs and Php69,000 for 115 IAs who are reported as Partially Affected.

Validation of these reported damages was duly assessed by the NIA 7 Administrative Section with the help of the NIA 7 field offices.
