
NIA Region 7 personnel put to test the newly purchased Phantom 4 RTK Drone in an actual field flight and data gathering/mapping in Ubay, Bohol last week.
The P474 thousand-worth equipment was purchased by the office to support the full adoption of the Farmland Geographic Information System database in irrigation systems and to aid in upscaling its operation and maintenance monitoring.
Senior Computer Services Programmer- Mark NiƱo B. Seneca and Data Encoder- Joma Mier T. Mumar with the assistance of Principal Engr. C- Evelina P. Putong, Sr. Engineers A- Maria Donesa A. Autida and Beverly Joy Q. Pocot, Senior Water Resource Facility Technician- Felix L. Guioguio, and Clerk Processor C- Sheila O. Gimeno took a sample take-off in Capayas IS ground and an actual field flight at Tuburan, Ubay irrigable areas on August 6, 2021.
The personnel who pilot the device's flight previously underwent an orientation on how to operate a Phantom 4 RTK Drone to ensure correct and maximum utilization of the equipment including its proper maintenance and upkeeping.
