NIA-REGION 7 PLANTS 3,224 SEEDLINGS IN BOHOL

The National Irrigation Administration Region 7 planted 3,224 seedlings in several watershed areas in Bohol as part of the agency’s National Greening Program.

The office joined other division and field offices nationwide in conducting the simultaneous tree-planting project, which served as a post-celebration activity of the NIA’s 58th founding anniversary last June 22.

A total of 3, 224 seedlings varying from fruit-bearing and other tree species were planted during the event, which was held amid strict observance of health and safety protocols due to the pandemic.

600 fruit trees, 500 bamboos, 200 coffee, 1100 hardwood, 100 narra, and 100 rattan with a total of 2600 seedlings were planted at the 7, 096 ha. watershed area of the Malinao Irrigation System in Brgy. Aurora, Pilar, Bohol.

400 hardwood, 200 fruit trees and 24 bamboos with a total of 624 varying seedlings were planted in the 2,403 ha. watershed area of Talibon Irrigation System specifially in Zamora Dam and Panas Creek, Talibon, Bohol.
