TAGBILARAN CITY | 95 Irrigation and Drainage Design Engineers from all over the country convene on January 26-28 for the 8th Design Congress of the Society of Irrigation and Drainage Design Engineers of the Philippines (SIDDEP).
The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region 7 hosts this 3-day at the Central Visayas Training Center with the theme: “Design Engineers Geared Towards Irrigation System Modernization”.
The host region, NIA Region VII Regional Manager, Engr. Reyne B. Ugay challenged participants in his welcome message.
"Learning is a never-ending process so let us take advantage of the presence of each member. I am optimistic that this collaborative engagement shall nurture and strengthen each SIDDEP member." RM Ugay said.
This partnership and collaboration among engineers are aimed towards harnessing the capacity of the NIA Design Engineers to be able to address the challenges confronting Irrigation Development through knowledge sharing, coaching, mentoring, case studies/problem-solving, and continuing professional education among members.
Presenters also gave updates on the latest design and specification guidelines, Dam Automation, insights from international training on Dam Design and Safety, and more.
This afternoon at 1PM, the NIA Administrator Engr. Eduardo Eddie G. Guillen will lead the opening of SIDDEP 8the Congress Exhibit where 5 exhibitors will present and demonstrate their products and services.
