March 14, 2022

TAGBILARAN CITY, BOHOL- 24 NIA Engineers who aspire to be Constructors Performance Evaluation System (CPES) Evaluators passed the CPES Accreditation Training facilitated by the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (CIAP) on March 2-4, 2022 at the Metrocentre Hotel.

After completing the Case Study and Praticum at their tasked evaluated project in Calunasan Small Reservoir Irrigation Project, a joint venture by MAC Builders and BNYU Construction in the town of Calape, these NIA Engineers can now file applications for the accreditation.

In an interview, the National Irrigation Administration Region 7 (NIA 7) Acting Regional Manager Engr. Reyne B. Ugay said this can greatly affect the speed of the agency’s project implementation.

“CPES is there so they can be guided in evaluating the contracts. Although the principle of CPES is that they cannot evaluate their own project, now having passed this training, our engineers can now easily identify mishaps and expedite the implementation of NIA 7’s projects avoiding negative slippage and backlogs”, Ugay said.

Philippine Domestic Construction Board Director Ms. Doris Gacho Executive Director, Retired IAS Division Manager and AACEP Auditor Engr. Teresita C. Pantalla, and Engr. Nikki C. Najarro, STIDS, PDCB are the renowned resource persons for the 3-day workshop.

Among these passers are 5 engineers from the Bohol-Siquijor Irrigation Management Office, 1 from Negros Oriental Satellite Office, 5 from Cebu Office, and 13 from the NIA 7 Regional Office.
