September 20,2019 - In accordance to the Presidential Proclamation No. 470, series of 2003 “Declaring the 3rd Saturday of September of each year as the International Coastal Clean-up (ICC) Day” and Presidential Proclamation No. 224, series of 1993 “Declaring September of every year as National Clean-up Month”, the National Irrigation Administration Region 7 took part in this year’s worldwide, annual activity to ensure that we have a hygienic and sanitizing environment to live in.
It was participated by nearly 100 employees of NIA Region 7 since a skeletal work force was retained in the office to cater our basic services. The 34th International Coastal Clean-up was held at San Pedro Beach, Dauis, Bohol, started at 8 o’clock until 11 o’clock in the morning.
Together, they amassed a total amount of 300 kilos of garbage and other waste materials when being put to the 18 sacks for disposal. It was fun, perspiring yet motivating because knowing that it will be beneficial to the people, who will be visiting or staying in the area, there is a certain drive in us to do more and this puts a smile on our face that doing good is our gaiety
