NIA-REGION 7 PLANTS 3,224 SEEDLINGS IN BOHOL

The National Irrigation Administration Region 7 planted 3,224 seedlings in several watershed areas in Bohol as part of the agency’s National Greening Program.

The office joined other division and field offices nationwide in conducting the simultaneous tree-planting project, which served as a post-celebration activity of the NIA’s 58th founding anniversary last June 22.

A total of 3, 224 seedlings varying from fruit-bearing and other tree species were planted during the event, which was held amid strict observance of health and safety protocols due to the pandemic.

A Ceremonial Turnover of Firearms led by NIA Central Office representatives and NIA Region 7 Regional Manager Engr. Wilson M. Lopez commence today at NIA R7 Central Visayas Training Center.

The firearms, some Pistol Caliber 9mm Glock 17 Gen 4 with Luminescent Sight, was distributed by the Acting Manager of Procurement and Property Division, Ms. Elaine P. Villanueva; Civil Security Officer A, Mr. Orlando S. Manalastas Jr.; and, Property Officer A, Mr. Richard M. Diesta.

NIA R-7 inaugurates project worth P645-million on Thursday, benefits 400 hectares of farmland in Ubay, Bohol

National Irrigation Administration Region 7, under the management of Regional Manager Engr. Wilson M. Lopez, inaugurated the Benliw Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (SRIP) located in the Municipality of Ubay, Bohol on May 27, 2021.

The project will benefit an estimate of 600 farmers by providing irrigation to 400 hectares of agricultural land in four barangays in Ubay namely, Benliw, Emelda, Cagting, and Sinandigan.

Benliw SRIP, whose water source comes from Pasanan Creek, includes the construction of a 21-meter-high zoned earthfill dam with a length of 517 meters, irrigation and drainage canals, and other appurtenant structures. Its reservoir has a catchment area of 5.60 square kilometers that can store 2.86 million cubic meters of water.

NIA RO7 ATTENDS PTF-ELCAC GENERAL ASSEMBLY

In support of the campaign of the national government to end local communist armed conflict, Executive Order No. 18, Series of 2019 is, hereby, issued to create a task force that will spearhead in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace in the province of Bohol by combining and integrating both Task Force Dagon (for Security) and Task Force Hoyohoy (for Development) into one to ELCAC, having the same aim in order to harmonize programs pertaining to security and development in the province.

LAUNCHING OF EPAHP PROGRAM AND MOU SIGNING

It aims to formally launch the EPAHP program at the provincial level in line with its implementation, further strengthen the IAs through their Federated Associations in the participation of EPAHP by signing an MOU with partner agencies and LGUs, and deliver thru virtual platform some information, program strategies and national updates on EPAHP implementation from the Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Karlo Alexei B. Nograles and NIA Administrator, Ricardo R Visaya (Ret).

NIA CONVEYS INAGHUBAN SIP TO IA

The transferring of responsibility came to pass in Inaghuban, Pilar, Bohol. It was attended by Engr. Franklin F. Fusingan, Engineer & Operations Division Manager, who initiated the ceremony, in behalf of Engr. Wilson M. Lopez, Regional Manager of National Irrigation Administration Region VII, to the Inaghuban Irrigators Association on September 27. The following individuals are also present; Hon. Eugenio B. Datahan’s representative, Mr. Julius C. Lapeceros ( IA President/ Brgy. Captain ), IA BOTs and officers, selected IA members, NIA staffs, municipal and barangay officials.
